Exactly 600 years ago, in 1425, the Immich-Batterieberg estate was established, making it one of the oldest wineries in the Mosel Valley. The most impressive moment in the history of this remarkable estate occurred in the mid-1800s when the Immich family decided to reshape the landscape and practically blew up an entire mountainside. As a reminder of this event, images of cannons are featured on the wine bottle labels.
Since 2009, the estate has been managed by Gernot Kollmann, who is considered the miracle worker of Mosel’s dry Rieslings. The estate follows organic farming methods and does not use industrial enzymes or yeasts in the production process. The character of the wines is also due to the rare, completely ungrafted vines, which produce intense grapes with low yields.
Now you have the opportunity to learn more about the history and present of this winery, which produces only about 70,000 bottles a year, and to meet Gernot Kollmann himself at a unique dinner event.
